RE
At Sutton Park, RE is now being taught following the new RE framework. The aim of the new framework is to ensure that all pupils develop religious literacy through:
- Knowing about and understanding a range of religious and worldviews (Worldview simply meaning the way in which people look at the world, not necessarily from a religious viewpoint).
- Expressing ideas and insights about the nature, significance and impact of religion and worldviews.
- Gaining and deploying skills to enhance learning about religions and worldviews.
The new RE framework is taught through the lenses of theology, philosophy and social sciences, encouraging children to look at things from different perspectives and prompting discussion on how things can be seen or interpreted differently.
