Under and Over the Sea

Topic: Under and over the sea, this topic is all about sea creatures and then after the May half term we move onto all things about pirates and at the seaside.

Maths:  Composition of numbers to 5, measures, shape and space, pattern, comparing numbers (more/less/fewer) and reasoning.
Reading: Our class texts are Smiley Shark and Tickly Octopus by Ruth Galloway, The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister, Pirates love Underpants by Clare Freedman, Lucy and Tom At the Seaside by Shirley Hughes and Harry Saves The Ocean!
Writing: Name writing with a tripod grip and composing some words on pictures using our letter and phonic knowledge.

Topic Ideas:

  • Research under the sea creatures and draw pictures with details.
  • Research about plastic pollution in the ocean.
  • Create a pirate map.
  • Make your own ice lollies.
  • Create a beach party invitation.
  • Make a beach scene in a box.

Please access the resources below if your child is isolating while waiting for a result. If your child needs to isolate after a positive result, please inform the office and school will be in contact with you to provide support for home learning which will be available on Tapestry.
